Manidweepa Mandapam – A Grand Spiritual & Cultural Pavilion
The India Cultural Center and Temple (ICCT) is proud to announce the Manidweepa Mandapam, a magnificent circular pavilion that will be an integral part of the Kotilinga Kshetram project. Designed with deep spiritual symbolism and architectural grandeur, this 128-ft diameter structure is dedicated to Sri Lalitha and embodies her divine presence through its intricate design elements.
The Manidweepa Mandapam will feature 16 limestone columns, each representing Sri Lalitha’s 16 Beejaksharas, supporting a copper roof shaped like a 16-petaled lotus. The pavilion’s terrazzo floor mirrors the lotus design, while the dome ceiling, painted as a night sky with constellations, adds a celestial ambiance. Equipped with modern lighting and sound systems, this space will offer a spiritually immersive experience for devotees.
Adding to its divine presence, the pavilion’s four grand entrances will be guarded by 6-foot-tall Hoyasala-style statues of sacred divine pairs, including Ganga Devi, Gauri Devi, Bhadrini Devi, Malini Devi, Swarga Devi, Varga Devi, Pasha Devi, and Vazra Devi, each placed on 2-foot limestone pedestals, bringing their total height to 8 feet.
Surrounding the Mandapam, eight Ashta Matrikas—Brahmi, Maaheswari, Kaumari, Vaishnavi, Varahi, Maahendri, Chamundeswari, and Mahalakshmi—will stand 7 feet tall on 4-foot limestone pedestals, reaching a total height of 11 feet, further elevating the spiritual grandeur of the space.
Beyond its spiritual and architectural significance, the Manidweepa Mandapam will include essential supporting facilities such as a warming kitchen, separate restrooms, green rooms, and storage areas. Designed for accessibility, the pavilion will feature double staircases, ramps, and a service road, seamlessly connecting it to the Hanuman Pavilion, Narasimha temple complex, and the larger Kotilinga Kshetram.
This sacred space will serve as a center for devotion, meditation, and community gatherings, enhancing the spiritual essence of Kotilinga Kshetram and reinforcing ICCT’s commitment to preserving and celebrating Sanatana Dharma.
